Pest and rodent inspection guide

Pest & Rodent Attic Diagnostics and Exclusion

Roof rats, mice and other pests get in through small gaps around the house. Here's what we look for, how the inspection works and what you get afterward.

What we look for

  • Roof rats and house mice

They can get through gaps as small as 1/4 to 1/2 inch. We look for droppings, chewed wiring and pipes, and damaged insulation.

  • Argentine ants

We look for ant trails, nests near the slab and irrigation boxes, and where they’re coming inside.

  • Spiders and scorpions

Black widows in meter boxes, garages and subfloors, and scorpions along rocky landscaping.

  • Gophers and squirrels

Burrows, mounds and damage to roots and lawns, common in Fallbrook, Bonsall and Temecula.

How the inspection works

  1. 01

    Outside and inside

A tech checks the outside and inside of your home and finds where pests are getting in. We inspect from the ground and don’t walk on roofs, because tiles crack and many roofs aren’t safe to stand on.

  2. 02

    Your estimate

You get an estimate based on what we found, with our recommendations and what each one costs.

  3. 03

    The work

We do the work on your estimate, whether that’s trapping, sealing entry points, clean-up or all three.

Why Knockout

  • Trapping and sealing over poison

Rodents that eat poison often die inside walls or the attic, which leads to odor and flies. We trap the ones inside and seal the entry points.

  • Clean-up when you need it

We clean out nesting areas and disinfect them. When insulation is damaged, we can remove it and put in new insulation.

What your estimate includes

Your estimate lists what we recommend for your home and what each item costs. Depending on what we find, it can include:

  • Trapping
  • Sealing entry points (exclusion)
  • Clean-out of nesting areas
  • Disinfection
  • Insulation removal or replacement
